Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you want to know about kids yoga, mindfulness, and the Rainbow Feelings method.
🧘 About Our Classes
What is kids yoga and mindfulness?+
Kids yoga combines gentle yoga poses, breathing exercises, and mindfulness activities designed specifically for children aged 5-9. Our Rainbow Feelings method uses 7 colours, 7 emotions, and 7 characters to help children understand and manage their feelings through play, movement, and storytelling.
What age group are your classes for?+
Our classes are designed for children aged 5 to 9 years old. This is the critical window when children's brains are most receptive to learning emotional regulation, self-awareness, and coping skills that will serve them for life.
Does my child need previous yoga experience?+
Not at all! Our classes are designed for complete beginners. We make everything playful and accessible. Children learn through games, stories, and creative activities — not through traditional yoga instruction.
What should my child wear/bring to class?+
Comfortable clothing that allows movement (leggings, t-shirt, etc.). No shoes needed — we practice barefoot or in socks. We provide all yoga mats and materials. Just bring a water bottle!
🌈 Rainbow Feelings Method
What is the Rainbow Feelings method?+
Rainbow Feelings is our unique method that connects 7 colours to 7 emotions through 7 lovable characters. Each colour represents a feeling (Red = Love, Orange = Courage, Yellow = Joy, Green = Peace, Blue = Calm, Indigo = Wisdom, Violet = Imagination). Children learn to identify, name, and manage their emotions through yoga, breathwork, stories, and creative activities.
Is there scientific evidence that mindfulness helps children?+
Yes! Research published in Frontiers in Human Neuroscience shows that breathing exercises measurably increase vagal tone in children. A 2019 study in the Journal of Clinical Psychology found that children who practised breathing exercises for just 5 minutes daily showed significantly lower cortisol levels after four weeks. Children aged 5-9 are in a "sensitive period" when their brains are especially receptive to learning emotional regulation skills.
How is this different from regular kids yoga?+
While regular kids yoga focuses mainly on poses and physical movement, our Rainbow Feelings approach integrates emotional intelligence, breathwork, journaling, and character-based storytelling. We don't just teach kids to touch their toes — we teach them to understand their hearts. Our tagline says it all: Strong Hearts, Calm Minds.

👨👩👧 For Parents
Can parents stay during the class?+
For regular kids classes, we encourage parents to drop off and pick up. This gives children independence and helps them focus. For our Parent-Child Bonding classes, parents actively participate alongside their child — it's a beautiful shared experience!
My child is highly sensitive / gifted — is this suitable?+
Absolutely! Our Rainbow Feelings method is especially beneficial for highly sensitive and gifted children. These children often experience emotions more intensely and need safe ways to process them. Our methods teach self-regulation, emotional vocabulary, and coping tools that are particularly valuable for sensitive children.
What results can I expect?+
Parents typically notice improvements within 4-6 weeks: better emotional regulation, improved focus, calmer bedtime routines, and children who can name their feelings instead of acting them out. Many parents tell us their children use the breathing exercises independently at home and school.
